Today's video is a lengthy three-parter.  Youtube user arthurhouston3 has brought us videos of a lot of really good railroads over the years and in my eyes, this is one of the truly great ones; The BNSF Fall River Division.

These videos are a few years old by now, so I can only image the layout looks even more outstanding than this now!

The Virginia Midland Railroad is a fantastic little railroad that I've been following the development of for many years now.  Shannon gives us regular video updates on it's development so although I'm only going to post one video here, I highly encourage everyone to check out his massive list of videos available on his channel. I've learned so much and gotten so much inspiration from his work!

Every fan of small switching layouts is familiar with Lance Mindheim. His East Spur layout was a huge inspiration for me as I began to get excited about the idea of building my own small switching layout.  Youtube user brickbuilder711 (who incidentally, like me, shares a passion for LEGO) brings us a fantastic look at Lance's famous Downtown Spur.

Movie Mondays #1

Gonna try something new to keep this blog a bit more active and keep my head in the game.  I'll be posting inspiring videos that really get me excited to get back to the workbench.

Up first, a stunning scene by Youtube user NRS800 that shows how much realistic action can be packed into a small space.  I really dig how detailed this scene is without ever looking crowded.  Every model has room to breath and the resulting realism is beautiful because of it.

Moving On Up!

It's been nearly a year since my last significant update and unfortunately I have accomplished nothing of interest during that time. What I have been doing is preparing to put my home on the market which is both exciting and a bit scary.  I'm the kinda guy who would be perfectly happy to "turtle up" in one spot to avoid the dreaded "What if?" that comes with entering the housing market, but the prospects of a larger basement and more comfortable workshop for my many hobbies is just too irresistible to ignore.

What this means for you all is that there will soon be a series of posts appearing here as I document the process of moving my layout from one location to another.  I did originally designed the layout to be moved, but as I measure things now, I'm finding that might actually be easier said than done.  We will soon see and you will be coming along on the journey with me!
